6 month trip. Honey moon ?! An unforgettable adventure. Around Asia. A marvellous road in the hearth of 3 massive civilizations : Russia, China, India. Strong cultures. Inspiring encounters. Breathtaking landscapes.
This adventure does not deserve a conclusion. Just being together to write this chapter of our relation is already enough. But we are glad to play a “top 3” game not to rank the experiences but especially to make an order in our pictures. Yep, here you are. Let’s go!
MARKETS
During a long trip, especially on budget, one of the best place for discovering a region is the market… We understood it pretty well and we enjoyed. Between fresh products, colors, customs and local populations, we filled our heads with souvenirs.
Cherrapunjee (India – Meghalaya) Khasi welcomed us in a colourful event where betel nut is the queen. Want to know more, click here.
Irkoutsk (Russia – Siberia) Hanging around and discovering all the fishes of Baikal… Wahou ! They are naturally frozen by the winter temperature. Priceless experience!
Pondicherry (India – Tamil Nadu) Flowers are eternally linked to Hinduism. In Pondicherry, we discovered the market, the source of happiness.
LANDSCAPES
There are some places on earth which are just amazing. There are some places that human language cannot describe. There are emotions born from travelling which are definitely hard to express. They always remind us that nature is bigger than us…
Frozen Baikal Lake (Russia) – A lake? We are not sure… 600km long, 90 km wide, up to 1.6km deep. Well. That’s impressive. And could you believe that the surface get totally frozen from January to April ? We do.
8000m in Himalaya (Nepal) – We both love mountains. We love getting high. But… when one climb for few days reaching 4000m and one is still surrounded by Annapurna and few other 7000m peak… tears come to you
Kha si waterfalls (Laos) – Turquoise waterfalls falling down in various pools. A heaven paradise. A perfect place for inspiration.
Marine National Park in Thailand – How possible is it to imagine so many colorful fishes under that sea? If Thailand is famous for a lot of things, it is without surprise that scuba diving is one of them. An unforgettable experience!
OUR COSY BEDS
Is it possible to feel at home even when we are not? Can we say that we are at home while thousands kilometers away? Mmm, looks like yes. There are some places which know how to charm. We found few and we even open the door for you.
Rolling Stones (Irkutsk – Russie) A small hostel at the same level of a Hotel. Perfect hospitality, amzring confort in a ultra-modern domitory…. and more than everything: a perfect atmosphere to make friends and meet people from all over the world.
Horse Pen (Shaxi – China) A guesthouse in the earth of Shaxi. An old stable renovated to welcome travellers. The place is full of history and atmosphere is unique. A moment which we will not forget ever…
Homestay (everywhere) And finally, we stayed few times in people’s house. In addition of being surprised by accomodation quality, we have our heads full of stories shared with locals.
